helps the magician to solve any difficult problem by supplying him, either by himself or by any of his subordinates, with suitable books, manuscripts, and the like. If, for instance, the magician is completely selfdependant and if he is operating quite alone, i. e. without the help of a teacher or initiator, this head may also assist him by introducing him, sooner or later, to a human being who will become the magician's true master. The quality of the teacher depends, in each case, on the quality and maturity of the seeking person.
